[71] Dwayne "ToothFairy" Johnson

The ROCK is back!!!!
But this time... In his pajamas!!!
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stars in this new movie called...

ToothFairy

Totally love the quote "Magic Is Getting Some Muscles!!!"
I'm not really a big fan of wrestling... In fact i hate it...
But... Dwayne Johnson certainly has some talent in acting... (As if wrestling is real)
If i'm not mistaken... This is probably the first The Rock movie that can make people laugh!!!

Why?? Well...
First... You dun expect a beefy guy like The Rock to be dressed in ballet skirts and blue pajamas...
Totally hilarious!!! Laughed the crap out of me...
And then you have all those magical toothfairy stuffs...
Amnesia dust... Shrinking paste..
Oh ya... The cute pair of wings... LOLZ...

Fit as usual...

Imagine waking up with a summon from a magical world and a pair of hideous wings...

Aviation lesson 101...

But in the end... Laughter is not the only thing i got...
Here's the moral i got from the story...
It is always good to dream... Dream big... Dream far...
But whether it will come true or not... It's up to you...
You can't take dreams away from people...
Cos' it is because of these dreams... People grow and learn...

Nonetheless... I still think that The Rock excels better in action movies...
Especially in the movie Walking Tall... Really love his role in this one...
You should google this show if you have watched it...
The Rock totally ROCKS!!!!

[70]My Strength???

Yeah!!!! My 70th post!!! 30 more till I hit 100!!!
I know... I'm kinda slow...
And I do believe that some of you think that...
This is a B-O-R-I-N-G blog...
But forgive me... It's all I can come out with...
At least for now...

Nothing much have been going on with my life...
Other than taking up a job as a daycare teacher/guardian...
Not really taxing... Kinda like the short working hours...
And communicating with children...
Which leads to a second thought in my career of interest...
Do I really wanna spend the rest of my life with conical flasks and pipettes??
Or is my true interest in helping, teaching and communicating with people???
Right in this moment... I'm really not sure...

Ok... Enough with the update on my life...
Gonna introduce you all to 2 nice songs...
Love at first "sight"... I heard them from the radio...
Can't believe one of the songs feel so right with my life at this instant...
I DIDN'T KNOW MY OWN STRENGTH... It's a statement... As well as the title of the song...
A really touching one by Whitney Houston from the album I Look To You....
IF you just feel like breaking down into tears... This is the song for you...
Can't really find the official video though...
The lyrics are in the video... So i hope you all could stick till the end....

I Didn't Know My Own Strength ~ Whitney Houston

I also have the music video and lyrics of Nickelback's NEVER GONNA BE ALONE from the album Dark Horse...
The lyric itself touched my heart deep...
And when i watched the video (a few minutes ago)...
I broke into tears... Yeah... I cried...
Even though at first I thought it was bout love and breaking up...
It's not!!! Nickelback did a great job!!!
Dun forget the amazingly beautiful + stunning young lady in the music video...
I wonder who she is....
Anyway... This could be another song for those who really miss their families, friends and loved ones... (I miss my friends in school!!!!!)

Never Gonna Be Alone ~ Nickelback

Time, is going by, so much faster than I,
And I'm starting to regret not spending all of it with you.
Now I'm, wondering why, I've kept this bottled inside,
So I'm starting to regret not telling all of this to you.
So if I haven't yet, I've gotta let you know...

Never gonna be alone!
From this moment on, if you ever feel like letting go,
I won't let you fall...
Never gonna be alone!
I'll hold you 'til the hurt is gone.

And now, as long as I can, I'm holding on with both hands,
'Cause forever I believe that there's nothing I could need but you,
So if I haven't yet, I've gotta let you know...

Never gonna be alone!
From this moment on, if you ever feel like letting go,
I won't let you fall.
When all hope is gone, I know that you can carry on.
We're gonna see the world out,
I'll hold you 'til the hurt is gone.

Oh!
You've gotta live every single day,
Like it's the only one, what if tomorrow never comes?
Don't let it slip away,
Could be our only one, you know it's only just begun.
Every single day,
Maybe our only one, what if tomorrow never comes?
Tomorrow never comes...

Time, is going by, so much faster than I,
And I'm starting to regret not telling all of this to you.

Never gonna be alone!
From this moment on, if you ever feel like letting go,
I won't let you fall.
When all hope is gone, I know that you can carry on.
We're gonna see the world out,
I'll hold you 'til the hurt is gone.

I'm gonna be there always,
I won't be missing one more day,
I'm gonna be there always,
I won't be missing one more day.

[69] I Spied....

Well... Got myself a job today...
Dunno whether i'm getting myself into trouble again like last time..
But i'm not going to discuss this today...
See how i'll be doing in a few weeks' time...

Went out with Kok Chow to catch a random show in cinema today...
TIGER WOOHOO had a full house... For 4 CONSECUTIVE showings!!!
So there's only 3 to choose from:
1- The Toothfairy, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
2- The Spy Next Door, starring Jackie Chan
3- Legion, starring... ar who???

Well.. We eventually went for The Spy Next Door...
But i'm not giving up on the other 3...
Probably gonna watch them next week... By all means...
Even if it means watching them alone...

Back to The Spy Next Door...
It's everything you could expect from a Jackie Chan show...
From laughter to action...BANG!!! BOOM!!! POW!!!
Just imagine a hybrid between previous Jackie Chan shows and The Pacifier (starring Vin Diesel... ring any bells?)...

Babysitting... What a pain in the a*s...

But... (OK... There's always a but!!!)
It does seems that Jackie is getting old...
All the moves and kung fu are, indeed, getting rusty...
Less intense... But nevertheless cool!!!
Recall all those times where he uses stuffs from the scenes themselves to wipe out the bad guys??
They got some of those too!!!

Now... To the good stuffs...
There are a few things which i really like bout this show...
And one of it is how the villains are portrayed...
The strong Russian accent... Huge ego... Hot outfits...
Yeah... That's what we're talking bout!!!
Who want's a sloppy lame geek as the bad guy anyway....

The one thing that shocked me the most was this guy...

Oh man!!!! Seemed familiar???
You could have seen him in Hannah Montana...
Billy Ray Cyrus!!!!
Yup... Cyrus... Sounds familiar???
Miley must be damn proud of her dad... Or is it the other way round???
Anyway... His appearance was really unexpected...
I admit it... i didn't looked at the poster properly prior to the show...
His deep country accent and language really added a whole new twist to the show...

And... Last but not least...
You can't forget the most important thing in SPY shows...
Gadgets!!! Try recalling movies like Spy Kids and Cody Banks...
Even at the beginning of the show i was already amazed by them...
They're portable.. Simple to use (no thick instruction manual needed)...
And... They are daily-usage-friendly...

See what i mean.... Toasting bread with a flame blower!!!

It's indeed a great show to watch...
Again.. Just try the show for yourself for at least once before giving any comments...
Different people might have different taste...

[68] Stuck In My Head

Movies on the last post... So what's on this one???
Well... Wanna share some songs with you people out there..
Somehow... These few songs are stuck in my head...

Can't get them out... And whenever these songs are aired in the radio...
I'll hum along like no one's business... lolz..
Hope you all like these songs like i do...

Fireflies ~ Owl City

No other words describe this song better than this...
CATCHY!!!
Dun really like techno + electronic songs... But i just can't resist this one....

Haven't Met You Yet ~ Michael Buble

Another song with a CATCHY beat and melody...
Really love how the song captures the feel when a person changes your life totally when you got the chance to meet them...

In a good way though... J
ust think of it as a neutral song...

Rather than a LOVE song...

This one's for Tam...
I dun really like it though...
Still CATCHY anyway!!!

Bad Romance ~ Lady Gaga

And last but not least...

Have a great laugh people!!!
*Can't wait for American Idol Auditions this week!!! And next week... and the next...*

[67] Never Judge A Book by Its Cover!!!

It's not meant for anyone...
But for EVERYONE!!!
Sorry for not updating my blog for like almost a week...

Been pretty busy baking...

Almost 80 orders of cornflakes cookies.. and i only have 50 done so far...
Phew... And there's also some painting going on as well..
Alternating between blogger and baker and painter...

I hope you'll all will accept these pics as my apology...

Prior to baking..

After a 15 minutes 150 degree Celcius tan..

Wala!!! Is this art or what!!!

If you've been following my blog...
You should have an idea of what this post should be...

Here's a hint.... It's got something to do with some of my FIRSTs...

Any guesses???

Well.. Gonna blog bout some of the movies i've watched recently...

And I think that everyone have watched them as well...
So i hope that you'll all can share your thoughts with me...

First up... AVATAR... not the regular one....

AVATAR 3D
Like i've said in my earlier post...
This show was my first 3D experience in the cinema...

I do admit i was quite skeptical about this show when i saw the preview...

You know... Blue people... Mystical land... Outer space...
None of these seemed appealing to me...

Oh... Dun forget the "From the director of Titanic" thingy...

Since it was the only 3D show available at that time...
I thought.. Why dun i give it a shot... Since we dun have 3D cinemas in Ipoh...
And believe me... I never regretted paying RM 18 for it....
Each cents worth its value!!!

Everything feels like... REAL!!!
It's almost touchable in some scenes...

The vines hanging down from the trees... The ashes..

There's even a point where a bomb seemed it was thrown towards the audience..
Totally COOL!!!

I din get to watch the 2D version though...
Maybe next week... If they still have it in Ipoh...
But AVATAR 3D is certainly a must watch...
A 5 out of 5... Check it out!!!

Why do i get the feeling that we're gonna see more of James Cameron?

And then there's the scar(e) of my trip... PARANORMAL ACTIVITIES...
Shouldn't have dragged Ming Sheng to watch it with me...
Shouldn't even have thought of watching it in the first place...
Still dun feel like talking bout it... It gives me the creeps... Even till now...
What i can say bout it... If you like Ghost Adventures (USA) or Seekers (Malaysia)...
This show is far worse than that...
And i still can't figure it out...
Whether it was real life or it's just they way the show is presented...
No pics from this show... Still trembling when thinking bout it...

Managed to watch another show when i got back from KL...
THE IMAGINARIUM OF DR. PARNASSUS...
It was the last one i've watched till now... A pretty good one too...
Starring big stars like Johnny Depp, Collin Ferrel and the late Heath Ledger...
This show probably looks lame and boring to many...
In fact... It is... But... If you look deeper (And i mean a lot deeper than skin deep)...
This show is pretty interesting you know...

It's actually hard explain the storyline...
You can search on the net for the summary...
But the show is way better that it's publicity...
I only came across it when i read the papers..
There weren't any previews or ads whatsoever..

Johnny Depp ~ Splendidly looking....

The moral of today's post: Never judge a book by it's cover...
Or in this case - Never judge a show before you've watched it...
Really.. If you wanna criticise a show... Be sure to watch it first...
*Probably should have watched The Dark Knight last time before i criticised...*

[66] Backpacking @ KL

Hey people!!! I'm back!!!
KL certainly was fun...
For someone whose haven been there for like 2 years...

Let's just put the trip this way:

3 students ~ Ming Sheng, Yi Kai and me...
2 missions ~ Information on further education + Quest for fun!!!
1 ending ~ EXHAUSTED...

I'll try to sum up everything and some of the details for myself...
The 3 days 2 nights backpacking trip started as we departed from IPOH railway station on Friday morning... Met with Siew Yee and Pui Yee... Same place and but different mission...

They were more into shopping... Rather than looking forward into the education fair..

First time on the train for me.... And i was really excited bout it...

We reached KL Sentral a little passed noon and had lunch...

Then we started looking for accommodation...
And we stumbled upon BEDZ KL...

It's actually a great place for backpackers as it feels like home...
At least the sofa and tv and the kitchen made reminded me of HOME-SWEET-HOME...

Look for this sign if you're looking for cheap and comfortable lodging in KL...

After checking in.. We took the monorail back to KL Sentral and made our way by KTM and bus to Sunway Pyramid (was it 4 or 5 when we left?)... And again...
My first time on the monorail... Lolz...

What so special bout Sunway Pyramid that we have to travel so far from Bukit Bintang to Subang Jaya??? If you're a KL-ian... You should know... We went there for ICE-SKATING!!!
It was another of my first time..

And to be frank... I'm not so good in it (not in any sports, like i've said)... lolz...
Fell flat on the ice for a few times... Got some minor bruises...
But... Lots of excitement!!!!

Sunway Pyramid Ice in the Blue Atrium

As i said... I'm no natural in sports...

Then we had some New Zealand Natural Ice-cream..
Did some shopping for supper and breakfast...
And we made our way back to Bedz by bus and monorail...
By the time we finished bathing...
It was almost midnight!!!

Satisfying treat...

Lemon and Lime sherbet (light) and Espresso ice cream (dark)..

T-shirt on sales??? Or the wearer??

Wai Nyin should love this one...

2nd day in KL and what did we do???
Our main priority was to gather info on our respective field of further studies...

To the STAR Education Fair at KLCC!!!

Ming Sheng and Yi Kai were clear cut with their choice...

Ming Sheng was into Accounting.. And for Yi Kai.. Chiropractic...

As for me... It was either Pharmacy or Biomedical Science or Chemistry...
But now i'm pretty sure i wan Pharmacy above all...

Guess how long we were there??

11am to 6 pm is like.... ya... 7 hours!!!! In an education fair!!!

Met up with Seng Loon + Pei Kuen, Chih Yong + Ivana and Wen Jin + Pui Yi...

Lovers trip to Education fair... lolz..

As the sign suggests...

Culinary Art... Up: Sugar Art, Down: Melon Crafting

Live DJ broadcast... Spot the celebrities...

Looks familiar?

Yi Kai met his parents there and went off with them...
So there was only me and Ming Sheng...
Ate dinner at Manhattan Fish Market... Tried Sword Fish for the first time...
And it was de-li-ci-ous!!
Then we went back to Berjaya Times Square near Bedz for 2 movies...

Avatar 3D awed me... Despite having problem with the glasses, i still enjoyed the show...
Love the fascinating effects the producers put in...
Really love the fact that i could touch almost EVERYTHING!!!

Paranormal Activities however... Totally scarred my holidays... Why? More in the next post...
But i guess i need to apologise to Ming Sheng... Sorry for dragging you into this show...
Should have watched Old Dogs and have a great laugh instead...

It was almost 2 when we finally went to bed...

3D classes on me... Dun look too nice huh...

Ming Sheng comfortable in them...

Guess what this is....

Last day in KL and it was a Sunday...

So I followed Ming Sheng to a church nearby...

Starting to get the hang of going to church... Lolz..
By noon, we packed and checked out as we made another trip to KLCC to meet up with Siew Teng...
For some talk on financing higher education and courses related to health care...
Ming Sheng went for a walk again in the fair while waiting for us...
Again... Sorry... Never thought the talk would be so long...
Really sorry if you were bored or even annoyed...

By the time the talk ended... It was time to say FAREWELL to KL...

But before that... We left Siew Teng in KLCC to roam by herself...

She's a Kl gal... Sure she'll know her way there..

And before I left KLCC.. I grabbed myself 2 baguettes form Deli France..
One after another... They were YUMMY-LICIOUS!!!

Sure they'll taste amazing when they're hot!!

The train departed at 6... Reached Ipoh at 9..

And only then i found out... Chan Leong and Meng Chun was on board as well!!!
That makes 12 Sam Tet-ians on the same train!!!!

COOL!!!!

Amazing trip??? To me.. It sure was...

Can't wait for another backpacking experience like this one...

Of course... There was a lot of walking and transits involved...

But who cares??? As long as I had fun!!!!

[65] Form 6: In A Nutshell

Took me quite a while to think of how to continue the last post...
Well... I guess i'll start by summing up the one-and-a half-year of Form 6 life...
Leave the details for later....

The same goes here too...
If you dun wish to read on....
You can simply close your tab or window or what-so-ever...
Be my guest....

* * * * *

Well... After the exciting orientation three days in a row...
Which included some briefing sessions, station games, stream selection, class arrangement, new committee nomination (both the Sixth Form Society and the class), etc....
Class started... The history of L6B1 2008 has begun...

Back then, everyone was a stranger to me...

I wasn't comfortable at all in that new environment...
I remember myself as being the timid and quiet student...
Even during ice-breaking in class, I was scared..

But as time passed... A month or so i guess (or was that two?)...
I managed to know almost everyone in class... Skin deep at least...
And I got to know some other people from around school through co-curriculum activities:
1-Sixth Form Society committee member (lucky I did... Life changing experience!!)
2-Vice President of the Consumers' Club (got promoted the next year... but not so proud of it...)
3-Voluntary Aid Detachment 7 (VAD7) member (which i quit halfway... dun ask why...)
4-Science Club member (potential vice president... haiz..)
5-Librarian (Another life changing experience...)

The next few months became more and more interesting...
Get to organise and participate in a lot of activities:
1-Sixth Form Night (180 degrees turn in my life....)
2-Charity Concert x2 (in Ipoh... and Subang Jaya!!!)
3-Class trip (get to know classmates more than just skin deep...)
4-Library Stock Check and Big Clean Up (tough.. but enjoyable!!!)
5-Librarian day trip to Trolak Camp (love that lots!!!)

All of these happen just in a few months time...
And... By Upper Six started... I'm no longer timid and quiet...
In fact... I've found a bunch of best friends!!!
The Guys gang... The Sixth Form Gang... The Librarian Gang...
Well... if you're reading this... You know where you guys/gals fit in...
I've even become the "BBC" in Upper Six (finally some competition to Wai Nyin's "CNN")...
Ming Sheng even called me Paparazzi.. Lolz...

Up until November (if i'm not mistaken)...
My Form 6 life was fired up with great activities as well:
1-School Sport's Day (never good in sports though...)
2-Chinese New Year Celebration (plenty of stuffs to do here...)
3-My birthday (first time celebrating after so many years...)
4-Lower Six Orientation (it was simply awesome..)
5-Class Gathering (BBQ was fun!!! Esp in a large house...)
6-Librarian's Annual Dinner (almost a disaster.. but manged to bring it together..)
7-Sixth Form Committee Farewell Dinner
8-Sixth Form Night (our turn to enjoy....)
I know it's a long list... But did i missed anything??

It seems that i've spent so much time enjoying...
So, what about my studies???
Well... I still managed to put in a lot of effort into it...
Esp when exams are really around the corner...
Studying which a bunch of friends also made studying more interesting...

And in the end of Form 6... What i can say... Proudly...
Is that I'M A CHANGED PERSON!!!
And i really appreciated everyone that has taken part in this makeover...
Each and every action (whether good or bad) they've done made me a better person...

The question that always comes to my mind when i reviewed back on my Form 6 Life...

"Will I trade all of these with any other thing in the world???"

Well... Now I can proudly answer...

"Never!!! Even if tomorrow never exist..."

~ To be continued ~

* * * * *

Details for every activity will be coming in the next few post...
But before that can come... Here's an announcement...
Gonna take the next three days off to KL...
Attending the STAR Education Fair 2010 in KLCC...
And gonna try some new stuffs...
Probably taking a lot of photos too....
Wish me a safe journey...
And probably next Tuesday I'll be blogging bout the trip...

So i'm leaving you with this great REMIX of the year 2009!!!
Not so much of a remix fan... but...
I lOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH!!!!!

*Sorry Yoon Teng... I just have to post this!!!!

[64] Form 6: Accidential Encounter

This will be the first post for the long series..

Well... As the title suggest...
I didn't actually plan to study Form 6...
In fact... Form Six was actually my last choice of pre-u...
Matriculation was more appealing than Form Six two years back...
But now... It all seemed different...

* * * * *

After my SPM, i was admitted to Fatimah Hospital for a minor surgery...
For those who are curious what kind of illness it was...
It's a rare condition... Umbilical Sinus.. Complicated?
Just imagine blood and mucus "leaking" from your umbilicus...
During that time, i also found out that i major health problem...
I have high triglyceride (oil) level and my cholesterol level was the borderline case...

It took me 2 months to fully recover from the surgery...
The wound had to be cleaned by saline and stuffed with ribbon gauze everyday...
Twice a day... Guess how painful that was!!!
Antibiotics and supplements were inevitable...
And all those medicine made me a very sick boy...
I even have to stay home during Chinese New Year due to high fever...
I took a change in diet...
Less fat... Less salt... Less calories (not Kenny Rogers though)...
Less portion of food....

Luckily.. I'd recover by the time the SPM results were out...
And i was really looking forward to that moment of triumph...
Grabbing that piece of paper and feeling proud of myself because i got....
9A1s... 1A2... 1B3????? What The Fuck!!!!

I really had high hopes for myself...
In school, i wasn't weak... Top 10 (or was that 20?) in school...
At home, i have a bet with mom... RM5000 for straight... or nothing...
Well... At that point... I felt weak... Weak to the knees... Weak to the bones...
No tears though... I wasn't going to cry...
I'm too tough for that...

Despite feeling weak... I continued with scholarship applications...
JPA... PETRONAS.. UNITEN... MATRICULATION...
As i said... I have high hopes for myself...
And one by one... The applications failed...
Wasn't selected for PETRONAS...
MATRICULATION rejected me...
Failed my interview for JPA...
Rejected the interview at UNITEN...
(because i dun like the course they offer... And it was the say before my JPA interview...)

With every hope lost... I thought...
Private colleges offered scholarships too...
So i attended some roadshows with my mom...
But the fees were way too expensive... Even with bursaries...
So... The last option was...
FORM 6....

Got my offer letter from school... Went for the 3 days of Orientation...
And continued to appeal for JPA and MATRICULATION for the next few weeks...
Which was to no avail...
Well... Form 6 it is... Since i have no choice...

All of these failures happened only in just 5 months...
And the world and everything since to be against me for no reason...
I lost all the confident i had (not that i had much in the first place)...
My life was disastrous... I AM A FAILURE!!!
At least that was what i thought...
But... Now I know...

FORM 6 ~ the RIGHT CHOICE to make!!!

~ To be continued ~

[63] New Year Joy

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!

*~*~*~
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Ya... I know... It should be "Happy BELATED New Year"...
Have been busy these few days running some errands around town...
Doing this for mom... Doing that with mom....
She's not around so often so I cherish every second when i'm with her...

Remember i said something bout baking CNY cookies???
(Or did i not say something like that???)
Well.... Spent the whole day of New Year's Day on making samples...
With mom and my aunt... The two sifu(s)...

I could say it was a fruitful day....
But it was definitely a special and enjoyable way to celebrate New Year...
With a day's of hardwork... Here's the results!!!!

The three varieties i'm working on....

Peanut cookies...
Mom's recipe... Must have them every Chinese New Year...

Melting moments.. More commonly known as Cornflake cookies...
Probably the best among the three... Everyone likes crunchy stuffs...

Pineapple cookies... Dun look too well dun they...
Wait till you try them.... Mamma Mia!!!

Still haven decide on the selling price though...

But i did some research on the market...

It seems that people are selling @ RM15 for a small container...

I wonder if i'll get demands if i sell them @ RM12...

Anyway... Gonna start a new LABEL of post...
Probably called FORM 6 LIFE...
Gonna (try) write on the details of the most memorable time of my life to date....
Come back soon, Ok?
